Nomad Outland Sherry Cask Finish is an innovative blended whisky that marries Scottish whisky heritage with the rich cask-ageing traditions of Jerez, Spain. Originally distilled and initially matured in Scotland, the whisky is then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks at the historic González Byass cellars in Jerez — a process that imparts deep, wine-like richness and complexity. This cross-cultural maturation gives Nomad Outland its distinctive character: sweet, sherried, and approachable, yet layered with intriguing aromas and flavors.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep amber with warm reddish hues — classic for a sherry-finished whisky.
NOSE:
Pronounced dried fruits (raisins, apricot), sweet honey, and vanilla mingle with subtle oak spice and malty undertones.
TASTE:
Smooth and layered, with flavors of caramel, dried fruits, oak spice, nutty undertones (almonds), hints of fig and honey. The interplay between the PX and Oloroso sherry influence brings a complex sweetness balanced with depth and richness.
FINISH:
Smooth and warming with lingering honeyed dried fruit, soft vanilla, and a touch of spice, making it very drinkable neat or with a splash of water.
