The 2006 Dominus is a Bordeaux-style blend crafted by esteemed winemaker Christian Moueix from Napa’s historic Napanook vineyard in Yountville. The blend consists of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, aged in 40% new French oak for 16–22 months. With only ~6,500 cases produced, it’s a powerful yet refined expression tailored for longevity.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep plum–purple hue; inky and dense.

NOSE:
Complex aromas of forest floor, truffles, black cherries, blackcurrants, intertwined with Asian spices, licorice, incense, and cedar.

TASTE:
Full-bodied with plush, seamless structure. Rich dark fruits (blackberry, cassis), mocha, espresso, tobacco, and savory herb tones—supported by refined tannins and low acidity.

FINISH:
Long and layered—lingering notes of truffle, graphite, earth, and spices.
