Gloria Tawny Porto, from Vicente Faria Vinhos in the Douro region of Portugal, is a fortified tawny port wine. It’s made using classic Douro port varieties: Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, and Tinto Cão.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Tawny-coloured, with gentle amber/dried-fruit hues. Aging in oak gives it a more mature visual aspect.
NOSE:
Aromas combine ripe fruit and dried fruit: raisins, figs; with nuts (almond or hazelnut), cinnamon or spice, perhaps vanilla or subtly toasted oak.
TASTE:
Elegant, velvety, and persistent. Flavours mirror the nose: dried fruits (figs, raisins), spiced fruit, maybe caramel or toffee, gentle nutty notes; sweet but balanced by the oxidative wood aging.
FINISH:
Smooth, lingering finish; richness but not cloying; well-integrated sweetness. Oak ageing softens edges and adds complexity.
