Description
Animus Vinho Verde is a white wine from the Vinho Verde DOC in northern Portugal, produced by Vicente Faria Vinhos. It is a youthful, easy-drinking wine emphasizing freshness and vibrant fruit. The blend is primarily Loureiro (≈ 80-90%) with Arinto (≈ 10-20%) providing lift and acidity. It is made from lightly pressed grapes, fermented at low temperature to preserve aromatics. Alcohol is relatively low (~10–11%) so the wine is light, crisp, and refreshing.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Pale straw with greenish hints — bright and fresh in appearance.
NOSE:
Fruity and fragrant — lime, green apple, melon, maybe some tropical fruit notes. Floral lifts from Loureiro are also present.
TASTE:
Light-bodied, with a gentle effervescence (“refreshing fizz”). Moderate sweetness (off-dry) that balances the natural high acidity. Flavours echo the nose: citrus (lime), orchard fruit, melon, green apple.
FINISH:
Crisp, clean, refreshing finish. The combination of bright acidity and touch of sweetness makes it very drinkable. Slight sparkle adds to texture.
