La Muse
COLOR:
Deep garnet-purple colour.
NOSE:
Aromas of cherry pie, blackberry jam, baked plums, red roses, underbrush, licorice, oolong tea, a touch of mocha or cocoa; exotic spices and sometimes forest herbs.
TASTE:
Full to medium-full body; rich, plush fruit; soft but structured tannins; freshness (acidity) lifts the dark fruit; interplay of oak spice and fruit. Balanced, elegant though powerful.
FINISH:
Long, persistent finish. Mineral or earthy undertones. Often shows ageability—will evolve over years, gaining complexity, more tertiary (forest floor, leather, dried herbs).
La Joie
NOSE:
Rich black fruit (crème de cassis, black plum, boysenberry), hints of pencil lead or graphite, black olive, violets or lilac, conifer or fresh sage, sometimes baking spices or dark chocolate.
TASTE:
Elegant but firm structure; tannins are fine-grained and strong, acidity to support, layers of fruit and mineral; balanced (not heavy oak, though oak influence is present). Medium to full body depending on vintage.
FINISH:
Long finish, often savoury and floral, sometimes a touch of earth, smoke or leather as it matures. Definitely a wine that can benefit from cellaring
Le Désir
NOSE:
More Cabernet Franc character: floral notes (rose, violet), red & black fruits (raspberry, cherry, mulberry), herbs (bay leaf, dried sage), spice (Sichuan pepper, bay, cedar), crushed rocks / minerality, sometimes lavender or exotic spice.
TASTE:
Medium-full body, good fresh acidity, tannins more grainy or slightly more assertive, often more closed in the early years; structure for ageing; complex flavor layering with fruit, spice, herb and mineral components.
FINISH:
Long finish, often with a peppery kick, noticeable mineral and herbal echoes, evolving over time to include more tertiary notes (forest, earth, leather). Requires patience but very rewarding.
