Secret Distillery #10 – 11 Year Old is a limited‐edition bottling from That Boutique-y’s “Secret Distillery” series, sourced from an undisclosed distillery on the island of Mauritius. It is distilled from molasses on a column still, then aged for 11 years in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 61.7% ABV. The release is a small batch (370 bottles for Batch 1) and bears the characteristic Boutique-y aesthetic with its playful label and mystery provenance.

While the “Whisky Company” name might imply Scotch whisky, this particular release is in fact a rum — but its presentation and branding echo the Boutique-y ethos: a hidden distillery, strong flavour, and collectability.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Starts with polished wood, ripe banana, creamy melted chocolate and sweet tropical fruit. A warm spice bed emerges—ginger, nutmeg, hints of marzipan and raisins.

TASTE:
Bold and oily in texture. Molasses sweetness leads the way, underpinned by baking spice (cinnamon, allspice, ground ginger) and a charred oak edge. The high proof gives power, though a few drops of water may mellow the heat and reveal buttery notes.

FINISH:
Medium to long. The citrus aspect (candied orange peel, lime zest, apricot, dates) lingers alongside oak char and savoury spice. The warmth subsides into a balanced drying oak and spice fade.
