The Talisker 1986 21-Year-Old, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail under their 'Secret Stills' series (No. 1.2), is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky. Distilled in 1986 at the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye, this expression was matured for 21 years in first-fill sherry butts before its release in 2007.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
A harmonious blend of slightly dirty smoke, spicy black pepper, and sherried sweetness. Maritime notes emerge, accompanied by hints of chocolate, malt, heather, and a subtle meaty BBQ char. Over time, nuances of strawberry develop, adding to its complexity.
TASTE:
Soft and inviting upon arrival, with flavors of sherry and raisin. The profile builds with black pepper, salty smoke, stewed fruits, and red apple, embodying the quintessential characteristics of aged Talisker.
FINISH:
Long and sweet, with lingering notes of tobacco, sherry, and a medicinal quality.
