The Springbank 2003 15-Year-Old Rum Wood is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky that exemplifies the distillery's innovative approach to cask maturation. This expression was distilled in December 2003 and fully matured for 15 years in rum barrels before being bottled in August 2019.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Initial aromas of honeydew melon and mint leaves, accompanied by subtle hints of flower blossoms and wood smoke. Over time, additional notes of gummy bears and an old, oily Highland malt character emerge.
TASTE:
The palate presents earthy and zesty flavors, with tangy limes and tart apples taking prominence. A slight bready note and a touch of light rum become apparent as the whisky opens up.
FINISH:
The finish is characterized by lingering notes of spices and a subtle sweetness, leaving a lasting impression.
