The Springbank 2001 Rundlets & Kilderkins is a unique single malt Scotch whisky that showcases the distillery's innovative approach to maturation. By utilizing smaller cask sizes, specifically rundlets (approximately 60 liters) and kilderkins (approximately 80 liters), this expression achieves a distinctive flavor profile.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Honey, vanilla, chocolate, nougat, and toffee in abundance, followed by hints of freshly ground nutmeg.

TASTE:
Creamy and rich, with notes of chocolate-covered honeycomb, pistachio, and crushed almonds. The maturation in small casks imparts a rich, oily character, giving an impression of being older than its ten years.

FINISH:
The ground nutmeg remains evident, but the creaminess outlasts the spices, leading to a long, smooth, and sweet conclusion. Adding water enhances the sweetness, introducing fruity and sugar candy notes, and further smoothing the finish.
