Description
This top-tier, single-varietal Chardonnay hails from the Family Reserve tier at Silver Heights, grown in high-altitude Helan Mountain East vineyards (~1,200 m). Grapes are meticulously hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented with native yeasts in climate-controlled conditions. The wine spends around 8–18 months in 100% new French Burgundy oak barrels, is unfiltered, and shows Emma Gao’s commitment to craftsmanship and terroir expression.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Medium-bodied, with a pale lemon to green-gold hue.
NOSE:
Aromas blend crisp green apple and citrus zest with tropical notes (papaya, banana, apricot), hints of wild-ferment funk, spice, and a light creamy/oak overlay.
TASTE:
Bright acidity frames a refined palate of stone fruits, citrus, flint, fine lees, and subtle sour cream. The oak is well-integrated, adding toast, clove, and gentle mineral complexity.
FINISH:
Long, zesty, slightly saline, with lingering flinty-mineral and spice notes.
