Description
La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna is one of Sella & Mosca’s most celebrated whites, made from 100% Vermentino, the flagship white grape of Sardinia. The vineyards lie close to the Tyrrhenian Sea, where maritime breezes and sandy, limestone-rich soils give freshness, salinity, and aromatic lift to the wines. Vinification is done in stainless steel to preserve the grape’s bright, Mediterranean character. La Cala is named after a small inlet along the coast near Alghero, capturing the freshness of the sea.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Pale straw with greenish highlights.
NOSE:
Aromas of citrus (lemon, lime, grapefruit), green apple, and white peach, layered with floral notes (jasmine, acacia) and a touch of Mediterranean herbs and sea spray.
TASTE:
Crisp and vibrant, with refreshing acidity and flavours of citrus, pear, and stone fruit balanced by saline minerality.
FINISH:
Clean and zesty with a lingering, slightly briny note reminiscent of the sea.
