Description
Sella & Mosca is one of Sardinia’s most historic and respected wineries, founded in 1899 near Alghero. Their Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is made from Cannonau (Grenache), the island’s signature grape variety, grown on Mediterranean-influenced vineyards with sandy, clay, and limestone soils. The wine is vinified traditionally and aged partly in oak and partly in tank to preserve the grape’s vibrant character while adding complexity. It is a benchmark expression of Sardinian Cannonau — bold yet approachable, fruit-driven but layered with spice and earth.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections.
NOSE:
Aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry, plum), floral notes (violet, rose), and Mediterranean herbs with hints of spice and tobacco.
TASTE:
Medium- to full-bodied, with juicy red fruit flavours supported by warm spice, licorice, and subtle earthy undertones. Tannins are smooth and rounded, balanced by fresh acidity.
