Description

This is a 10-year-old Islay single malt released under the Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire label (an independent bottling series by Master of Malt / Atom Brands) from an undisclosed distillery.

It is matured for a full decade, with approximately 25% of the whisky finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry or sherry octaves, adding a layer of sherry influence to the signature Islay coastal/peat profile.

The branding emphasises raw character: “seaweed & aeons & digging & fire”, evoking an elemental, coastal, smoky whisky experience.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Crystallised ginger, sea-spray, and seashells, layered with peat smoke and coastal minerality.

TASTE:
Intense peat and earthy smoke. Burnt coffee grounds, cocoa, stewed stone fruit and salted dark chocolate make an appearance.

FINISH:
Long, with coastal smoke giving way to charred seaweed, espresso, toasted peppercorn and cinnamon snaps.
