Description

Sally’s Paddock Red Blend is a flagship wine from Redbank Winery’s Sally’s Paddock vineyard. The vineyard was planted in 1973, is unirrigated and located on alluvial gravel soils over rich friable red clay, at around 420 metres elevation in the Pyrenees region of Victoria. The wine is estate grown, handpicked, wild‐yeast fermented in small batches and matured in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak (in puncheons and barriques). The blend varies slightly by vintage but typically includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, and smaller proportions of Merlot.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep, opaque crimson with purple edges.

NOSE:
Intense aromatics of dark berries (blackcurrant, blackberry, plum) with lifted floral notes, spice, cedar, and hints of earth and tobacco.

TASTE:
Full-bodied and powerful, with layers of black fruits, redcurrant, and dark cherry framed by spice, leather, and chocolate. Firm tannins provide structure, while integrated oak lends complexity without dominating.

FINISH:
Long, persistent, and complex, with fruit, spice, and savoury notes evolving as the wine breathes.
