Quilceda Creek’s 2020 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% Cabernet crafted from the powerhouse Champoux (90%) and Mach One (10%) vineyards, known for producing small, intensely flavored berries. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak (Darnajou and Taransaud) and bottle-rested before release, this is a wine of remarkable concentration, structure, and elegance.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
The aroma opens with lush and ripe core fruits—blackberry, black cherry, and plum—delicately layered with floral notes like rose petals, sandalwood, and violet, plus exotic spices, mocha, graphite, and loamy earth.
TASTE:
Rich and opulent, yet finely structured. Dominated by black fruit flavors, gentle clove and espresso spice, graphite undertones, and a savory mineral element. Despite its power, the wine retains a silky texture and vibrant acidity.
FINISH:
Persistent and refined, with expansive fruit, delicate oak spice, and a polished, persistent finish.
