Description
Protos Reserva is a benchmark red wine from the Ribera del Duero region in Spain, produced by the storied house Protos which dates back to 1927.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep, intense cherry/red-ruby with garnet hues at the rim.
NOSE:
Black fruits (blackberry, plum), hints of cherry, licorice, vanilla, spice, balsamic/mineral undertones and well-blended oak (toast, cedar).
TASTE:
Full-bodied but balanced. Rich fruit core, smooth but firm tannins, good acidity, and the oak component is noticeable but not overpowering—there’s a sense of depth and structure.
FINISH:
Long, lingering with dark fruit and spice, along with mineral/earthy after-notes characteristic of Ribera del Duero terroir.
