Description

Pierre Bourée Fils, a traditional Burgundian house based in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1864, crafts elegant, terroir-driven wines with minimal intervention. Their Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Garennes is produced from Chardonnay grown in this premier cru climat at the southern end of the Puligny commune, where limestone-rich soils and ideal exposures give wines of great finesse, minerality, and ageing potential.

The wine is vinified with natural yeasts, fermented and aged in French oak barrels (around 20–25% new), and typically spends extended time on the lees, adding texture and depth without overwhelming the purity of fruit.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Bright golden with greenish highlights.

NOSE:
Aromas of citrus (lemon zest, grapefruit), ripe orchard fruit (pear, apple), and white peach. Subtle floral notes (acacia, hawthorn) mingle with nutty hints of almond and hazelnut, and discreet oak spice (vanilla, toast).

TASTE:
Elegant, medium-bodied with a fine balance of richness and minerality. Layers of citrus, pear, and stone fruits are lifted by crisp acidity and underscored by chalky, flinty minerality. Lees ageing adds a creamy, rounded texture.

FINISH:
Long, precise, and persistent, with a mineral core and lingering notes of citrus and toasted nuts.
