Description

Pierre Bourée Fils, the traditional Gevrey-Chambertin–based domaine, makes a classic expression of Pommard, one of Burgundy’s most robust and powerful Pinot Noirs. Coming from the Côte de Beaune, Pommard is known for producing darker, more structured wines than neighboring Volnay or Beaune. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, and aged for about 18 months in French oak barrels (20–25% new), in keeping with Bourée’s old-school style. The result is a wine that combines firm tannic structure with generous fruit and earthy depth.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep ruby with purple tints in youth, garnet tones with age.

NOSE:
Bold aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, with notes of leather, spice, earth, and sometimes hints of cocoa or smoke.

TASTE:
Full-bodied (for Pinot Noir), with muscular tannins and concentrated fruit flavours of cherry, blackcurrant, and dark berries. Earthy tones of truffle, game, and underbrush unfold with time.

FINISH:
Long, structured, and persistent — showing both fruit and terroir-driven minerality.
