Pierre Bourée Fils, founded in 1864 and based in Gevrey-Chambertin, is known for traditional Burgundian winemaking, long oak ageing, and producing wines built for elegance and longevity.
The Meursault 1er Cru "La Pièce Sous Le Bois" comes from a premier cru climat located just south of the village of Meursault, on limestone-rich soils with clay components that give the wines both richness and freshness. The domaine vinifies the Chardonnay using natural fermentations, followed by élevage in French oak barrels (often 20–30% new), with extended lees contact for depth and complexity.
This results in a rich, ageworthy white Burgundy that expresses both the opulence of Meursault and the finesse of premier cru terroir.
