Description
Parker Estate’s Cool Climate Chardonnay comes from their vineyards in Coonawarra, a region made famous for its Terra Rossa over limestone soils and maritime cooling influences. The “Cool Climate” label emphasises longer ripening, freshness, and balance. In recent vintages (e.g. 2022-2023), the winemaking mixes oak-fermented and oak-barrel-matured portions with stainless steel and partial malolactic fermentation, allowing both richness and liveliness.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Pale straw to light golden with subtle green tints.
NOSE:
Fresh citrus (lemon, lime), stone fruit (nectarine, peach), melon, with hints of brown spice and toast from oak; subtle florals and sometimes a mineral or flinty note.
TASTE:
The wine has a creamy, smooth texture (from malolactic / lees contact) balanced with bright crisp acidity. Fruit flavours are clean (melon, stone fruit, citrus) with spicy oak and often a touch of nuttiness or vanilla.
FINISH:
Long, balanced finish with a clean acid backbone. Oak is present but fairly well integrated — giving spice and texture, not overwhelming the fruit.
