The Nikka Miyagikyo Peated is part of the Nikka Discovery Series, a limited-edition line that lets fans explore experimental whiskies coming from Nikka’s distilleries.
Traditionally, the Miyagikyo distillery is celebrated for its elegant, fruity, and softly floral whiskies.
But in this special expression, Nikka uses solely peated malt to challenge that expectation.
This gives Miyagikyo a smoky, more robust character while still preserving its estery core.
It’s bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered, and comes in a 700 ml container.
This release was limited — for example, the Uisuki listing notes that only 4,812 bottles were made.
