Naught – Sangiovese is a uniquely expressive Australian gin, matured in ex-Sangiovese wine barrels to create a spirit of striking depth and character. This limited-release offering from Naught Distilling seamlessly marries the herbaceous backbone of classic gin with the nuanced tannins, red fruit notes, and soft oak of aged Sangiovese wine. The result is a sophisticated sipping gin with both structure and soul—perfect neat, over ice, or in elevated cocktails.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Aromas of juniper and raspberry compote, layered with hints of violet, dried herbs, and subtle French oak.
TASTE:
Smooth and full-bodied. Bright red cherry, cassis, and blood orange upfront, followed by undertones of cinnamon, vanilla, and sandalwood from the barrel. The classic gin botanicals remain present, but softened and harmonized by the wine cask influence.
FINISH:
Long, warming, and elegant, with a tannic grip and lingering notes of spice and red fruit.
