Description

This red blend comes from the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the Somontano appellation, crafted by the producer Bodega Pirineos. The wine brings together three grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Tempranillo — from vineyards in the Sierra de la Candelera at the foot of the Sierra de Guara.

The style is young, fresh and fruit-driven rather than heavily oaked or aged. It aims to provide approachable red wine character while reflecting its Somontano terroir (chalky‐loam soils over limestone or sandstone horizons) and the benefit of significant diurnal temperature variation.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep cherry (picota) red with a youthful violet rim.

NOSE:
Fresh aromas of blackcurrant (cassis), cherries, mint and herbal notes (minty/menthol under-tone) reflecting the Cabernet/Merlot component, with a hint of generic forest berries and florals.

TASTE:
Juicy and fruit-forward — plenty of ripe berry and cherry flavours, well balanced acidity, soft tannins, a smooth structure that is “very fruity with youthful nuances”.

FINISH:
Medium body; easy-drinking young red. Good versatility on the table.
