Description

Intense and deep red with purplish reflections. Tarry and smoky, raspberry, blackberry, walnut, liquorice. Complex, powerful attack, velvety and balanced, long finish, liquorice, tobacco, cocoa. Depending on the vintage, the wine can be kept for 30 to 60 years, or even 50 to 75 years.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep garnet to saturated ruby with purple highlights — youthful and intense.

NOSE:
Aromas of blackberry, cassis, raspberry and dark cherry intertwined with smoky minerals, licorice, tobacco, exotic spice and incense, often with olive or cedar hints as it evolves.

TASTE:
Full-bodied and highly concentrated with rich dark fruit, mineral drive and firm tannins. Flavours of blue fruits, black olives, graphite, cocoa and earth build into a complex mid-palate. Structure and tension balance the opulence, leading to a long, savoury finish.

FINISH:
Long and persistent, with layers of spice, fruit and mineral notes.
