La Gauloise Jaune is a classic French herbal liqueur crafted by Distillerie du Centre in Limoges, France, from a bicentennial recipe rediscovered in 1783 by alchemist Édouard Requier. Rooted in apothecary lore and inspired by ancient herbal elixirs, this luminous yellow spirit blends more than 30 secret botanicals — including angelica, St. John’s wort, saffron, cardamom and génépi — with fine brandies and sugar to create a rich yet smooth herbal liqueur with 40 % ABV. Compared to its green sibling, the Jaune version is softer and sweeter, with a mellow herbal character that makes it both an elegant digestif and a versatile cocktail ingredient.
