Kitajima - Sea Salt Yuzushu | Japanese Flavored Sake

Kitajima – Sea Salt Yuzushu is a refreshing Japanese citrus liqueur crafted by the historic Kitajima Brewery in Shiga Prefecture, founded in 1805. Built on a smooth sake base, it blends freshly pressed yuzu juice with a delicate touch of natural sea salt—creating a unique balance of sweet, tart, and lightly savory flavors.

Often described as Japan’s answer to limoncello, this expression uses a higher concentration of yuzu than typical yuzushu, resulting in a more vibrant, aromatic, and luxurious profile. The addition of sea salt subtly enhances the citrus brightness while rounding out the acidity, evoking a coastal, refreshing character.

Light in alcohol (around 7–13% ABV depending on batch), it is versatile—equally suited as an aperitif, dessert drink, or cocktail ingredient.
