Description

Jessiaume Meursault is a white Burgundy from the Meursault appellation, Côte de Beaune, made by Domaine Jessiaume (Jean-Baptiste Jessiaume). It is 100% Chardonnay, vinified with traditional Burgundian care: whole berry pressing, élevage in oak and steel, lees contact, etc. The wine seeks to balance richness, texture, minerality, and freshness — typical of Meursault but with its own signature style.

Vinification (from recent vintages): grapes are directly pressed, with must transferred to stainless tanks, then fermented and aged partly in oak barrels (about 30% new oak) over 12 months, followed by several months (4-6) in steel tanks. Lees aging feature to contribute texture and complexity.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Deep but perhaps a bit “gassy” initially (in the sample), with a fine faint spice component. Shows width and identification as a Meursault in blind tasting.

TASTE:
Lovely texture, a small burst of juiciness, good palate width, balanced. It is not overpowering; elegance is maintained.

Poultry (especially roasted chicken or turkey), veal in cream or butter sauces
