Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Pale straw, bright and clear (as typical for fresh Chardonnay-led sparkling) with fine bubbles (“fine bead”).
NOSE:
Delicately lifted fruit aromatics: citrus (lemon or lime), pear. Possibly green apple or white stone fruit depending on vintage. Fresh and lively.
TASTE:
Crisp and dry. Early-picked Chardonnay gives fresh acidity. Fruit flavors (citrus, pear) come through, with a richness to balance by good flavour intensity. The palate is clean, with flavour lingering but not heavy.
FINISH:
Fine mousse (tiny, refined bubbles), balanced acidity that keeps it lively. The finish is dry and clean, with a lingering flavour—it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Overall elegant and refreshing.
Food Pairing
Growers Gate Brut Cuvée is versatile and works well with foods that match its crispness, fruit, and dryness. Here are some pairing suggestions:
Seafood: oysters, scallops, smoked salmon — especially those with light citrus or herbal accents.
Appetizers & hors d’oeuvres: shellfish starters, prosciutto with melon, light canapés.
Cheese: soft cheeses (brie, camembert), fresh chèvre.
Light poultry: chicken breast or turkey with lemon / herb seasonings.
Salads: green salads with vinaigrettes, fruit salads.
Celebration fare: works well as a toast wine, or with light finger foods.
