Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep, beautiful ruby red with violet hues.
NOSE:
Ripe black fruits (plum, dark cherry), fresh red fruits, touches of floral notes (violet, lavender), soft spicy hints, some pastry or baked goods notes, and subtle herbal/earthy undertones.
TASTE:
The palate is juicy and fresh, with good structure. Fruit-forward but balanced: fresh red/black fruits, spices, floral/herbal components. The tannins are fine-grained, giving texture and a somewhat chalky (or “tizosa”) mouthfeel.
FINISH:
The finish is long with lingering fruit, spice, and subtle oak influence.
Food Pairing
Here are food pairing recommendations to match this style of Malbec:
Grilled & roasted meats: Beef (steak, ribeye, flank), lamb chops or lamb shoulder – the tannins and structure can stand up to red meat.
Barbecue / smoky flavors: Dishes with smoky char, or sauces with pepper, spice or barbecue rubs.
Hearty stews or casseroles: Beef or lamb stews, or dishes with mushrooms, roasted root vegetables.
Rich poultry: Duck, roasted or grilled chicken with herbs, or poultry in richer sauces.
Cheese: Hard cheeses like aged cheddar, manchego, or semi-hard cheeses; also cheeses with some character (not delicate).
Spiced dishes: Cuisine with a bit of warmth, herbs, or spice – think rosemary, thyme, maybe lightly grilled peppers.
