MAX Malbec is part of Viña Errázuriz’s MAX line, which is named in honor of founder Don Maximiano Errázuriz. The MAX wines focus on expressing the full potential of each grape variety, drawn from premium vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley, Chile. Malbec for MAX is grown in interior parts of the valley, in soils of colluvial origin (loamy to clay-loam, silty in some spots), where vine vigour is moderated, giving more concentrated, finely structured fruit.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep, beautiful ruby red with violet hues.

NOSE:
Ripe black fruits (plum, dark cherry), fresh red fruits, touches of floral notes (violet, lavender), soft spicy hints, some pastry or baked goods notes, and subtle herbal/earthy undertones.

TASTE:
The palate is juicy and fresh, with good structure. Fruit-forward but balanced: fresh red/black fruits, spices, floral/herbal components. The tannins are fine-grained, giving texture and a somewhat chalky (or “tizosa”) mouthfeel.

FINISH:
The finish is long with lingering fruit, spice, and subtle oak influence.
