Description

Domaine des Croix’s Saint-Romain “Combe Bazin” is a remarkable white Burgundy sourced from a steep, high-altitude parcel in Saint-Romain underlain by limestone. This single-hectare vineyard yields extremely low production, reflecting the mastery of winemaker David Croix in capturing site character with minimal intervention. The fruit undergoes gentle processing—light pressing and spontaneous fermentation—before aging on lees in 500 L used barrels and subsequent refinement in concrete tanks.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Pale lemon-gold with green highlights.

NOSE:
Aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, and white peach, layered with citrus blossom, almond, and wet stone.

TASTE:
Medium-bodied with a slightly broader texture than cooler vintages, yet retaining fresh acidity. Flavors of lemon curd, pear, and hints of honeycomb glide over a saline, chalky minerality.

FINISH:
Long, clean, and precise, with lingering citrus zest and a gentle nuttiness.
