Description

Clisson is one of the first recognized crus in Muscadet, crafted from old‑vine Melon de Bourgogne (50–110 years old) grown on distinct Clisson granite soils—poor, compact with quartz and mica atop fissured bedrock. Vines are biodynamically farmed and hand‑harvested. Grapes are whole‑cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, then aged “sur lie” (on lees) for a minimum of two years in underground vats before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Pale gold with crystalline clarity and a hint of green.

NOSE:
Elegant aromas of lemon oil, lemongrass, white flowers, stone fruit, and a distinctive saline-mineral character from granite terroir.

TASTE:
Full‑bodied yet taut, with crisp green apple, lime, and peach essence. Acidity is brisk but balanced by lees texture, followed by intensely steely minerality and a long, focused finish.

Food Pairing

Ideal with oysters, mussels, scallops, shellfish platters, sushi, and light seafood preparations. Also excels alongside smoked salmon, creamy fish soups, and subtly-spiced Asian dishes. Serve chilled at 8–12 °C; decanting or brief aeration brings out depth.
