Description
Delheim Chenin Blanc comes from the Simonsberg ward of Stellenbosch in South Africa, produced by Delheim Wines (Sperling family). There are a few different styles under this name (e.g. the Chenin Blanc Unwooded, and the Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment) but generally the wine is crafted to showcase Chenin’s fruit purity, refreshing acidity, and expressiveness. The unwooded version is lighter, very fresh, while the Wild Ferment version adds complexity through spontaneous fermentation and more texture.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Light yellow with a greenish tint. Bright and fresh.
NOSE:
Aromas of white and yellow peaches, guava, and pineapple; clean fruit with citrus highlights.
TASTE:
Very crisp and zesty, with clean fruit flavours carrying through; fresh acidity gives lively structure. Palate is balanced. Green melon may show up toward the finish.
FINISH:
Clean, lingering fruit-driven finish. Crisp.
