The Deanston 15 Year Old Tequila Cask Finish is a limited-edition Highland single malt whisky that highlights Deanston’s commitment to natural, adventurous maturation. Distilled and matured in the historic Deanston Distillery on the River Teith, this expression begins its journey in traditional oak whisky casks before being finished in Añejo Tequila casks from Mexico.
Bottled at 52.5% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, it showcases Deanston’s honeyed, malty Highland style beautifully complemented by the vibrant, earthy, and citrus-spiced influence of aged tequila casks. Released as part of Deanston’s innovative cask-finish range in 2022, it was limited to select markets and warmly received by whisky enthusiasts for its originality and balance.

Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Bright golden amber with glints of lime gold. Natural colour.
NOSE:
Honeycomb and vanilla fudge with layers of green agave, lime zest, and toasted oak. Floral hints, herbal spice, and a gentle peppery freshness from the tequila cask influence.
TASTE:
Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet malt and heather honey upfront, evolving into tropical fruits (pineapple, mango), citrus oils, and earthy agave notes. Subtle oak spice, vanilla pod, and a touch of white pepper.
FINISH:
Medium-to-long finish — warming with lingering honey, oak spice, citrus peel, and a faint vegetal tequila note. Balanced between Highland sweetness and tequila vibrancy.
