Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Richly smoky and coastal — bonfire smoke, sea spray, and smoked bacon, overlaid with dark chocolate, raisins, and walnut fudge. The Oloroso octave adds a deep, sweet nuttiness and hints of dried fig and cherry compote.
TASTE:
Full-bodied and oily, with peat smoke, espresso, treacle, and burnt sugar up front. Layers of toffee, roasted nuts, dark fruit, and salty caramel develop with time. The sherry influence tempers the Islay power beautifully, lending balance and warmth.
FINISH:
Long, smoky, and satisfying — ash, black pepper, sea salt, and lingering fruitcake sweetness. The peat smoke fades slowly, leaving oak spice and cocoa dust.
