DAOU Chardonnay is an expressive, full-bodied Chardonnay from Paso Robles, California (DAOU Vineyards) that showcases both ripe fruit richness and balanced oak influence. It comes from higher-elevation vineyards with loam and limestone soils, enabling fruit with varietal purity, while maturation in French oak (partially new) adds texture, complexity, and spice. The wine tends to deliver lush fruit, creamy mouthfeel, and long finish, yet retains a freshness through dynamic acidity and finesse.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Medium golden yellow hue.

NOSE:
Pear (often Bosc), passion fruit, pineapple; floral notes such as honeysuckle, white peach; accents of nutmeg, buttered toast, vanilla, crushed hazelnut.

TASTE:
Tropical and stone fruit: mango, kiwi, pineapple; golden apple; melon (casaba / honeydew); also creamy/vanilla elements, citrus zest; subtle oak and spice (allspice, toasted almonds) giving roundness and layered richness.

FINISH:
Silky, mouth-filling texture; good weight, with oak well integrated; long, balanced finish — lingering fruit, toast, citrus / almond / spice tones.
