This exceptional limited-edition release marks the 10th anniversary of the Expérimental series from Christian Drouin, one of Normandy’s most respected Calvados producers. For Springbank Angels, Drouin selected a deeply aged 19-year-old Calvados Pays d’Auge and finished it for five months in ex-Springbank** whisky casks**, infusing subtle maritime peat character into the classic apple brandy profile. Only 2,130 bottles were produced worldwide, making this a sought-after collector’s edition.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Rich and aromatic, opening with roasted apples and smoky peat, followed by plum and clafoutis with delicate earthy undertones.
TASTE:
Full-bodied, opulent and structured, with toasted orchard fruit character and deep baked apple sweetness. The influence of the Springbank barrels lends complexity without overwhelming the Calvados core.
FINISH:
Long and expressive — the peat smoke emerges gently in the finish, adding a distinctive coastal touch to the classic Norman apple brandy.
