Chichibu Angels is a creative and limited-edition release from Christian Drouin, the esteemed Calvados house in Normandy. Part of the Expérimental series, this expression combines the refined craft of French apple brandy with a subtle influence from Japanese whisky maturation. It starts with a 12 year-old Calvados Pays d’Auge that is finished for 4–10 months in five former casks previously used to age the renowned Japanese single malt whisky from Chichibu Distillery. The result is an elegant and nuanced blend of traditions — Normandy orchard character meets the delicate nuance of rare Japanese whisky barrels.

Aromas of roasted apple and quince jam open first, followed by hints of precious wood and powdery grainy cereal notes — an inviting and complex aromatic profile that balances fruit richness with elegant oak.

Intense and well-defined, the palate balances barley husk, apple skin, and citrus zest with a refined structure that reflects both the Pays d’Auge Calvados and the influence of Japanese oak finishing.
FINISH:
Long, clean, and harmonious — the finish carries lingering orchard fruit notes and a refined dryness that keeps the experience balanced and memorable.
