Single-varietal Tannat sourced from a steep 0.45 ha parcel of 50+‑year‑old vines in the southern-facing slopes of Madiran’s Vic‑Bilh region, grown on Pouzzolane (pebbly clay) soils.Crafted in extremely limited quantities (≈668 bottles per vintage) and matured for over 30 months in large 500 L oak barrels, showcasing the power and purity of old‑vine Tannat.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep, almost opaque ruby‑black core with crimson highlights.
NOSE:
Complex and intense, with layers of ripe dark fruit (blackberry, black plum), eucalyptus/menthol, sweet spices like cinnamon and clove, and a rich woody note.
TASTE:
Full-bodied, velvety and concentrated. Initial sweetness gives way to structured, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Flavors include black cherry, dark chocolate, prunes in syrup, and baking spices.
FINISH:
Long and harmonious, echoing dark chocolate, cinnamon, and generous spice.
