Description

Crafted from estate-grown Zinfandel vines planted on volcanic and alluvial soils at Calistoga, Napa Valley—some dating back to 1972. The blend showcases both old heritage vines and Primitivo clones, hand-harvested and aged in a mix of French, American, and Irish oak (with only about 15–16% new barrels) for roughly 16 months.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Medium ruby to deep garnet, occasionally showing a slight burnt-orange rim on mature vintages.

NOSE:
Bright aromas of blackberry, raspberry, cranberry, with savory accents like forest floor, aged balsamic, pepper, tobacco, and cedar.

TASTE:
Juicy dark and red berries (blackberry, plum, cranberry), balanced with peppery spice, light mocha, earthy minerality, and hints of cedar. Satin-like tannins and bright acidity offer chewable texture and freshness.

FINISH:
Smooth and lingering with a touch of warmth and structured tannins.
