Château Monbousquet - Saint-Émilion Grand Cru | French Red Wine

Château Monbousquet is a prestigious estate located on the western and southern slopes of Saint-Émilion, celebrated for producing rich, powerful, and polished Right-Bank wines. Acquired in 1993 by Gérard Perse (owner of Château Pavie and several other major Right-Bank properties), the estate underwent a complete transformation involving lower yields, meticulous vineyard management, hand harvesting, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and significant investment in the cellar.

The soils are a mix of gravel, sand, and clay, which promote concentration, aromatic intensity, and silky tannins. The wine is typically a blend dominated by Merlot, with contributions from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, expressing a modern, opulent, fruit-forward style that has become the estate’s hallmark.
