Description
Château Le Roc is a red Bordeaux from the Entre-deux-Mers / general Bordeaux AOC, produced by Vignobles Landié under Cédric Landié. The vineyards have clay-siliceous soils and are about 25 years old. The typical blend is ≈ 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon in many recent vintages.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep ruby to garnet red, showing some youthful vibrancy.
NOSE:
Aromas of ripe red and black fruits (cherry, plum, blackberry), often with hints of vanilla and perhaps a touch of earth or subtle oak.
TASTE:
Medium bodied. The Merlot brings roundness and fruitiness, while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and grip. Tannins are present but generally smooth and not harsh. The acidity is balanced, enough to give freshness without being overly tart.
FINISH:
Dry, with persistent fruit notes, a bit of earth, and subtle vanilla or oak in many cases. The finish is pleasant though not extremely long—good value.
