Description

This inventive South African Cabernet Franc (about 85%) is part of Bruce Jack’s acclaimed Ghost In The Machine range, crafted from mountain vineyards in Helderberg and Ashton. After hand harvesting, grapes undergo wild fermentation in open-top tanks with soft manual punch-downs, then mature for 14–20 months in older French oak. The bottling features a world-first—each label is unique, using three overlapping wraps applied randomly—reflecting the wine’s imaginative spirit.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Medium-deep ruby with aromas of red and black berries, violet florals, fennel, pencil shavings, green pepper, and leafy herbs.

TASTE:
Medium-bodied, offering juicy raspberry and cherry underpinned by savoury herbaceous notes (sometimes canned peas), earthy tones, plus subtle molasses or toffee. Tannins are powdery to satiny, with bright acidity and a smokey, herb-infused finish.

FINISH:
Clean, lingering, with a herbal, savoury twist and well-integrated oak.
