Description

Bertinga is a modern Tuscan estate located in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany. The winery focuses on producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines primarily from Sangiovese and international varieties like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Bertinga Rosso Toscana IGT is typically a blend of Sangiovese with Bordeaux varietals (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and sometimes Petit Verdot). It is made to be approachable yet complex, with a strong sense of Tuscan identity. The wine is usually aged in French oak (barriques or larger format) for around 12 months before release.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep ruby red with purple highlights.

NOSE:
Intense aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, and plum, with layers of violet, spice (pepper, clove), and a touch of graphite or earth. Subtle oak notes (vanilla, cocoa, cedar) from barrel aging.

TASTE:
Medium to full-bodied with a fresh Tuscan backbone of acidity. Ripe red and black fruit, balanced by fine tannins and hints of sweet spice and minerality.

FINISH:
Long and elegant, with lingering notes of fruit, herbs, and oak spice.
