This 2009 vintage single malt from Blair Athol, independently bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd, is a 14-year-old expression matured and finished in a hogshead cask with Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry influence.
Tasting Notes
NOSE:
A bold opening reminiscent of a sherry bomb—dark and dried fruits like raisins and dates dominate, underpinned by butterscotch and decadent fudge.
TASTE:
Full-bodied and richly fruity with a dry edge. Raisins, dates, and figs take center stage, balanced by warming spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg.
FINISH:
Medium to long, with raisins still hanging on and other dried fruit notes bowing in support. A lingering sugary depth closes the dram on a warmly festive note.
