Description
Almaviva is a premium Chilean Bordeaux-style blend, a collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild (of Mouton-Rothschild) and Viña Concha y Toro. The 2022 vintage comes from Puente Alto in the Maipo Valley, one of Chile’s most prestigious vineyard zones.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Deep, dark purple hue with a solid, dense core; vibrant with youthful crimson/purplish-tinged edges.
NOSE:
Perfumed and complex. Notes of lavender, blackcurrant (ripe), graphite, tapenade, and hints of sweet tobacco. Also herbal and dried herbs touches.
TASTE:
Full-bodied and rich. Ripe dark fruits (blackberry, cassis) with layers of vanilla, cocoa, possibly a mocha or spicy oak influence. Tannins are firm yet refined; acidity sufficient to provide balance.
FINISH:
The finish is long, with opulence, depth and herbal or cooling nuances.
